|ANNUAL STRATEGIC PLANNING FORUM |

Following its inaugural Strategic Planning Forum in Bali in March this year, APSWC established six industry task forces, to address the most pressing needs and challenges: People, Professionalisation, Products, Profit, Planet & Traditional Therapies.

The time is nearing to review the progress of those task forces, and determine how the outcomes can be developed and implemented in each of our countries and companies. We will also be reporting on APSWC activities, and planning ‘next steps’, including task force scope and priorities for the year to come.

Please note that this forum is by invitation only. Due to the highly interactive nature of the event, we need to limit attendance to a level that permits participation by all. Please see the following information for meeting details and preliminary agenda. Attendance will be capped at 75 persons.

| Six Pillars Task Force |

Following the Strategic Planning Forum held in Bali in March 2007, the APSWC established six industry task forces to pursue areas of priority for the industry:

Professionalisation - the process of making the spa & wellness industry more professional. Priority for this Task Force is the creation of Voluntary Professional Guidelines; a self-regulating tool on the pathway to Accreditation.

People - this Task Force aims to structure the industry, providing guidance to both employers and employees regarding skill sets and minimum working conditions. It also includes initiatives to help attract and retain good staff.

Products - this Task Force aims to demystify products & equipment, improving the quality of information to help operators make the best choice for their businesses, and provide accurate professional advice for their clients.

Profit - this Task Force aims to improve industry information for owners, operators and investors; establishing benchmarks & KPIs.

Planet – this Task Force seeks to raise awareness of sustainability issues related the spa & wellness community. It also provides tangible tools to measure the ecological impact of spa businesses, and a 'toolkit' of standards, guidelines and remedies to bring the spa industry into line with international best practice.

Traditional Therapies – a subgroup of the Professionalisation task force which is dedicated to identifying and documenting the traditional therapies of the Asia-Pacific region, so that their authenticity can be preserved, and integrity protected.

To participate in a Task Force, simply complete the contact form with your name and check mark your desired Task Force, and then you can determine the extent of your role once the detailed programme for that Task Force is prepared.

Each task force will have a dedicated leader who will coordinate the allocation of tasks and prepare recommendations for presentation to the Coalition.

To participate in a Task Force, please complete the following APSWC Task Force Contact Form or email apswctaskforceliasion@gmail.com
